The Car of the Near Future

TechnologyIn today's world, where cars are a quintessential part of everyday life, especially for those living in an urban society, the automotive industry's contribution to the “greenhouse effect” is becoming increasingly serious.

Responding to environmental concerns, the automotive industry is making an all-out effort to introduce advanced technological innovations that make vehicles more environmentally friendly, improving the quality of life for people in years to come.

Achieving a clean, sustainable transportation system, therefore, is the ultimate goal of the automotive industry with engineering teams hard at work on research and development to produce less environmental hazardous, energy-saving vehicles.

The process aims to improve the efficiency of today's diesel and benzene engines, using the latest technology to meet goals for conserving the environment..

One innovation today is the natural gas vehicle (NGV), with a hybrid engine produced by combining a gasoline drive engine with supplementary energy from an electrical source, Electric vehicles, once battery-driven relying solely on external charging, now have a fuel cell unit (FC unit), a new technology that generates energy from internal sources.

A power system that relies on a FC unit represents the best answer for environmental conservation as a prototype for future engine development. This system uses methanol mixed with water in an ignition chamber. Extracted hydrogen is retained, and mixed with oxygen, creating a chemical reaction producing an electric current that is transmitted to the motor to propel the vehicle.

Apart from improved engine efficiencies, based on pure energy, the car of the future is a unique, modern machine designed to give motorists high performance and convenience. Airflow improvements, through computer design engineering, reduce wind resistance. There is a digital dashboard, ergonomically designed seats, electronic-guard starter system and finger print detector device on the driving wheel.

Safety is another critical issue that cannot be overlooked. Supplementary equipment such as standard safety airbags, an antilock braking system, safety fenders and windshields, a fortified chassis and shock absorbers, safety belts and improved internal designs to reduce the risk of injuries, are among numerous passenger safety measures. Moreover, some models have hinged hoods and collapsible windshield wipers to reduce risk of injury to pedestrians in case of accidents.

This technology covers a wide range of automobiles. From big buses used in public transportation systems, to four-wheel drive vehicles used in all sorts of conditions, sleek sports cars, standard trailers and compact city cars designed for heavy traffic conditions in big cities like Bangkok.

These automotive innovations aim to create a more friendly operating environment, underscoring in a sensible manner to make life on earth a safer, cleaner and happier experience.
