Two in a row for Renault

RacingTwo wins in two races and the team is back to its winning ways, and boy does it feel good! Fernando was mighty on Sunday as he swept to a commanding victory at the Fuji Speedway to record back-to-back victories and strengthen the team's grasp on fourth place in the constructors - championship. Mission accomplished? Well, not quite, but the team is odds on to achieve its double objective of finishing fourth with the third quickest car.

With blinding pace, consistency and perfect strategy, there was simply no stopping Fernando on Sunday as he pulled away at the front of the field. Whereas the win in Singapore had an element of luck, the triumph in Fuji was achieved on merit and was a testament to the efforts of the whole team and the development work that has taken place on the R28 throughout the season.

Nelson's fourth place ensured that it was a double success for the team as he battled through the field in one of his strongest races of the year.

Yet more Eastern promise? After Singapore and Japan, the Formula 1 circus remains in Asia for the Chinese Grand Prix in Shanghai this weekend. It's one of the newest additions to the calendar, but a track that has been a happy hunting ground for Renault with a win for Fernando in 2005 - a victory that also secured the constructors' title that year. While it will be a tall order to go for a hat trick of victories this weekend, the whole team now believes that anything is possible and we will certainly head to Shanghai with thoughts of another visit to the podium.
